I’ve recently purchased a range of Simplisafe products to review, however, when setting up two Simplisafe keypads, the original one simply disconnected and wouldn’t show in range again. Despite not having any issues when it was alone.
I will be bringing this up in an upcoming review, however, in the meantime, I’m sure you will want the fix for the Keypad out of range fix.
If you’ve already tried the official steps and know for a fact it isn’t due to your keypad being too far away from the Base Station or isn’t paired with the base station, keep on reading.
Fixing the SimpliSafe keypad out of range error
It’s incredibly important you do these steps in this specific order:
- Remove all batteries from all Keypad out of Range devices
- Make sure the Base station has no batteries or power.
- Wait between 10 – 15 seconds
- Power up Base Station
- Your Base Station will now be in test mode, you need to press the power button to resume resetting.
This should fix the issue at hand, unfortunately SimpliSafe support team didn’t provide a great level of support.
If the above doesn’t work, try rebooting your router to remove the IP address from your device on that network.
