If that doesn’t sell Disney+ to you, I’m sure the range of 100s of Movies from Pixar & Disney will along with almost all National Geographic documentaries.
If you don’t have a Smart TV, fear not! As you can turn your dumb TV into a Smart TV.
Installing Disney+ changes depending on the model of your TV, as such, I’ll do my best to explain how to install the Disney+ app on each brand of Smart TV.
How to download the Disney Plus app on an LG Smart TV
How do I download the Disney+ app on an LG Smart TV? – LG TVs have their own application store called the “LG Content Store”, simply follow these steps to set up Disney+:
Unfortunately, Disney+ only supports LG TVs from 2016 or later which use WebOS 3.0+
- Sign up to Disney+
- Connect your Television to the internet
- Select Home followed by LG Content Store
- At the top of the screen search for “Disney+”
- Select the Disney+ Icon and then install
- Depending on your internet speed, this should be done within 5 minutes
- Select Disney+ from your Smart TV Home screen
- Log in to Disney+

How to download the Disney plus app on a Samsung Smart TV
How do I download the Disney Plus app on a Samsung Smart TV? – This is probably the easiest TV to install Disney+ on, Samsung has had a while to work with their own appstores as they have with Android Phones.
This is available on any Samsung Smart TV from 2016
You can install the Disney+ app following these steps:
- Sign up to Disney+
- Connect your Television to the internet
- On the home screen , select “Apps” found on the left hand side
- At the top, put “Disney+” into the search bar
- Select the Disney+ Icon and then select “Add to Home”
- This will take 5-10 minutes based on your internet speed
- Open the App from your home screen and log in
How to download the Disney Plus app on a Sony Smart TV
How do I download the Disney Plus app on a Sony Smart TV? – Much like the Samsung Smart TV, Sony has experience with apps and as such you can use the Google Play Store or the Sony Select (Sony’s own app store).
You can only install Disney+ on Smart TVs from 2016 onwards
You can install the Disney+ app following these steps:
- Sign up to Disney+
- Connect your TV to the internet
- Select either Google Play Store or Sony Select from your home screen
- Search for “Disney+”
- Select the Disney+ icon and then press “Install”
- Once it’s finished downloading, go back to your home screen
- Select Disney+ and then log in
How to download the Disney Plus app on a Philips TV
How do I download the Disney Plus app on a Philips Smart TV? – Philips Smart TVs actually use Android Software and the app store varies with Model. However, most Android devices use the Google Play Store.
- Sign up to Disney+
- Connect your TV to the internet
- On your Home Screen, select Google Play Store
- In the search box at the top, type in “Disney+”
- Select the Disney+ icon and then press “Install”
- Go to your home screen and select Disney+
- Log in to Disney+
How to download the Disney Plus app on a Panasonic Smart TV
How do I download the Disney Plus app on a Panasonic Smart TV? – Unfortunately, this isn’t possible this is due to Panasonic currently not providing support for it.
This isn’t a problem though, as you can set this up with a Smart Streaming Stick like the Amazon Fire Stick.

Disney Plus Not Working
If you already have the Disney Plus app downloaded but it’s not working, you can try power cycling your device and checking your internet connection.

Can I watch Disney+ if I don’t have a Smart TV?
Yes, it’s still possible to watch Disney+ on a standard TV, this does, however, require you to convert your Dumb TV into a Smart TV fire a streaming stick.
These Streaming sticks allow you to stream not just Disney+ but Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Amazon Prime, Hulu and YouTube.
